Frequently Asked Questions

Does TeacherAssist use student data to train AI models?

No. Student data is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. Your data remains your data. We use enterprise-grade AI services (Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Google Vertex AI) with data processing agreements that explicitly prohibit model training on customer data.

Is TeacherAssist FERPA compliant?

Yes. TeacherAssist meets FERPA requirements. We never sell student data, and provide data processing agreements for school districts. See our Privacy Policy and contact us for a DPA.

Which standards does TeacherAssist support?

TeacherAssist currently includes Learning Standards for Illinois, Missouri, California, Texas, and New York (Math, English, Science, Social Studies). Teachers select their state, grade, and standards during onboarding. Don't see your state? Send us an email: support@teacherassist.ai.

How long does it take to evaluate a class set?

Upload a PDF with all student work, select your assignment and rubric, and the AI evaluates every student's work against it — most classes of 25–30 students are evaluated within 2–5 minutes. The AI doesn't assign the grade; it generates standards-aligned diagnostic data and an achievement level for each student, so you can see exactly how each answer compares to your key and rubric, then review the work and enter the grade yourself.
