Last updated: March 2026
1. Overview
Teacher Assistant (“the Service”) provides tools that help educators analyze student work, generate grading insights, and support instructional planning. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for use by educators, schools, and districts. You must create an account and maintain an active subscription or trial to access the platform.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful educational purposes. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or misuse the platform or its underlying technology.
4. Student Privacy and Data Handling
The Service is designed to minimize the handling of student information. The platform:
- does not store student names, IDs, or personally identifiable information;
- extracts only student initials from uploaded documents;
- stores assignment text and grading results without student identifiers;
- deletes uploaded documents after analysis is complete;
- does not sell, share, or transfer student-related data to third parties.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable laws, including FERPA or equivalent student privacy regulations in your jurisdiction.
5. Subscription, Billing, and Trials
Access to the Service requires an active subscription unless you are participating in an approved trial or early‑access program. Billing is managed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until cancellation.
Trials are limited and may be revoked or modified at any time. Early adopters may receive promotional pricing that remains in effect as long as the subscription remains active.
6. No Guarantee of Accuracy
The Service provides automated grading assistance, analytics, and instructional suggestions. These outputs are generated algorithmically and may contain errors. You acknowledge that:
- all grading decisions remain your responsibility;
- the Service does not replace professional judgment;
- the Service is not liable for grading outcomes, instructional decisions, or academic consequences.
7. Service Availability
The Service may experience interruptions, maintenance windows, or updates. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error‑free operation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teacher Assistant is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, instructional outcomes, or academic impact.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or misuse of the platform. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
